The state government provides holistic development schemes for fishery industry as well as protecting the 405 km coastal line of the State of Gujarat. These schemes are aimed to improve the livelihood, security and welfare of the poor fisherman as well as fishing industry as a whole

Up to 50% subsidy on the setting up of sweet water hatcheries

Eligibility

1) Only persons who are legal fisherman holding license for fishing are eligible for this scheme, 2) The proposed hatchery should have an area of atleast 2 hectare and hatchery unit's projected production should be atleast 10 million units per year, 3) The proposed land on which the hatchery is to be built must be of the ownership of the applicant or if it is rental then the lease has to be for atleast 10 years, 4) The applicant must also submit the technical project report with specfications of hatchery along with application, 5) The construction for the fish hatchery shall be done through a registered and qualified civil engineer and will be further verified by qualified government officer, 6) The applicant shall sell the seeds at reasonable and approved rates to breeders
