National Scholarship Scheme - Scholarship for Children from Rural Area for Secondary Stage Studies

Objective

The objective of the scheme is to provide opportunities to school students from rural areas to pursue secondary stage education. The number of scholarships allocated is communicated to the State Govts/UT Administration every year.

To provide financial assistance to meritorious students from rural and economically weaker backgrounds, preventing dropout at the secondary stage and encouraging continued education.

Benefits

Scholarship ranging from INR 500 to INR 5000 for further seconary stage studies for SC and ST students

Eligibility

There is a 2 stage examination, The first stage exam is conducted by State Government and those selected are examined in Second Stage by NCERT. Top student of those passed are provided with scholarship
