Objective

In cases of accidental death of unorganized rural and urban workers in the State of Gujarat, with a view to providing social security cover to members of their families, Shramik Suraksha Accident Group Insurance scheme has been implemented since 1996. Under this scheme, full amount of premium payable, is paid to insurance companies by the State Government on behalf of labourers

Objective

is to provide financial protection and accident coverage for workers, especially those in the unorganized sector, ensuring security for them and their families.

Benefits

Insurance coverage up to INR 1 lakh for rural laborer in case of accidental death or permanent disablement

Eligibility

1) the person has to be engaged in rural labourer in unorganized sector, 2) The application has to be made, it should be made within 90 days of accident, 3) For rural area the age limit is 14 years to 70 years of age.

Application Method

The application form can be obtained from Rural Labour Office at district level/taluka level. The following documents should be attached along with application: 1) Evidence of unorganized worker (identity such as Aadhar card can be accepted in this), 2) Evidence of age (Birth certificate/Driving License/Aadhar Card), 3) In case of accidental death, Panchnama/Report of Police Investigation/FIR/PM report/SDM report shall be attached, 4) Approved evidence of legal heir of the deceased

Mobile Number: For communication and registration purposes. Passport-sized Photograph: Recent photograph for the application form. Permanent Address Proof: Such as a utility bill or ration card.​
